E2-DLNA: An Improved Energy-Efficiency Mechanism for DLNA
نویسندگان
چکیده
As the explosive growth of mobile networks, green mobile networks have been studied extensively. DLNA protocol, widely used in smart home, does not take any consideration for power saving. In this paper, we propose an energy-efficient mechanism for DLNA (E-DLNA), which can achieve balance between QoS provision and energy efficiency. The core network condition estimation algorithm TES used in E-DLNA can help Mobile Handheld Devices (MHD) adjust its packets-sending strategy according to estimated network condition. In this way, MHDs can dramatically reduce the unnecessary multicasting messages. Our experimental results show the effectiveness of E-DLNA. Energy consumption can be reduced 10-30%.

Bringing IMS Services to the DLNA Connected Home
DLNA is a leading standard for consumer electronics devices. But it does not enable remote devices to connect to services in the home, using the IMS-based networks now being rolled out by telecom companies. We present a solution for interworking DLNA and IMS, and discuss the implications. We also describe how to enable IMS services on DLNA devices.

In the past decade great technological advances have been made in internet services, personal computers, telecommunications, media and entertainment. Many of these advances have benefited from sharing technologies across those industries. This influences how Digital Home Entertainment products are designed to follow the overall ”Media Convergence” trend. Existing Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) ...
متن کاملA Quality Based Power-Hump Mechanism for High Speed Network Connectivity of Mobile Devices in Digital Living Network Alliance Networks
Mobile devices are increasingly assuming an important role in “smart home” network environments. Although their computing, storage and networking capabilities have evolved significantly, these devices remain power-constrained and, therefore, there is need to actively take measures to minimize their power consumption. In this paper, we propose a Power Saving (PS) mechanism for mobile devices in ...
متن کاملA 1.2 V, CMOS Differential Low Noise Amplifier with Low Noise Low Power for Bluetooth Receiver
Abstract A differential Low-noise Amplifier (DLNA) using 0.13 μm CMOS technology is presented. The amplifier is optimized for Bluetooth Receiver applications operating in the 2.4 2.5 GHz band. The inductive degeneration topology used in the DLNA provides low noise, high gain and a large IIP3. The differential LNA was added a cascade output stage to the Single-ended source degenerated stage. Sim...

Many researches and standardizations have been done for controlling and managing home networks and devices during past ten years. Such activities and technologies include UPnP/DLNA, ECHONET and Continua Health Alliance and so on. However, such technologies control and manage specifi c home devices. There have been no technologies and standards for controlling and managing such heterogeneous hom...
